Perfectionism is my excuse for Procrastination

For the past three months, I’ve been carrying a weight on my shoulders — and finally, today, I feel light again.
Our website is finally live, and honestly, it feels like the best thing that’s happened to me in a long time. How sad is that? 🥹 But truthfully, it feels like a massive weight has been lifted.
Here’s the thing: as builders, creatives, and innovators, we often suffer from what people call “shiny object syndrome.” I’ve come to see that as both a curse and a superpower. Why live one life when you can build ten, right?
But here’s the catch, building a business means wearing many hats, and time doesn’t always allow you to do everything yourself. When I decided it was time for our creative agency to have a proper website, I put on my developer hat.
Web design has always fascinated me. I got my start back in the PP2G days, for those who remember life before TikTok 👀.. I wanted to design this website myself because I genuinely enjoy the creative process, even when it means redesigning the same page ten times before returning to the original version.
Then someone I really respect asked me a question that changed everything:
“What value does your website provide?”
That simple question shifted my focus. I realised that in chasing the perfect design, I was delaying the real purpose — creating a space that helps people understand what we do and how we can help them.
Perfectionism had become my excuse for procrastination.
So, instead of waiting until everything looked flawless, I decided to publish it as it is, a work in progress, just like the business behind it. As they say, done is truly better than perfect.
Now that the website is live, I’d love to hear your thoughts.
If you have web design experience, feel free to share your feedback.
If not, tell me how it makes you feel — does it represent what we do?
And if you’re here because you’re ready for more clarity in your own brand or business, I’d love to chat.
